Linney is a C.F.S.A. Gold Dance, Seventh Figure & Free Western
Canada Junior Men's Champion 1953. He also competed in Pairs and Dance
at the Western Canadian Level. He is a former C.F.S.A. Gold Test and Sectional
Competition judge. Mr. Linney's student's achievements at the national level are: Second in Junior
Dance, Fifth in Senior Dance, Fourth in Novice Dance, Third in Novice
Men, Third in Junior Men, and Fifth in Senior Men. He also started and
promoted the Manitoba Summer Open Competition.
He was Vice-Chairman of Figure Skating
Coaches of Canada, Provincial Coaching Representative to Skate Canada
and Chaired the Winnipeg Figure Skating Foundation (which gives
bursaries to skaters). He also started and helped to develop the
Manitoba Competitive Figure Skating Training Center. |
